In every era the Grateful Dead have a vehicle for exploration and while Dark Star obviously jumps out especially in 1969.
I for one am most flabbergasted by:

Here is another tremendous version of this tune with much urgency and crackling thunderbolts of electricity.
By the time they finish HE HAD TO DIE the crowd is stunned and sublimed.
The rest of this show is kind-- even if somewhat familiar as far as tunes they played regularly during this time period but hey China Cat>Top of the World never gonna get old and Dark Star>Stephen>Eleven>Lovelight.a
